An Introduction to Botanical Lino Printing

Join local printmaker and ecologist, Layla Ousley, on a beginner's workshop in botanical linocut printmaking.

Layla is a local printmaker and ecologist, who will be bringing her enthusiasm and love of wildlife and plants to Trebah to deliver a beginner’s workshop in botanical linocut printmaking.

Layla will create a warm and inviting environment introducing participants to the joys of linocut printmaking techniques. The day will involve taking advantage of the beautiful gardens to create a small edition of botanical prints.

Participants will work on postcard sized blocks and will experiment with image transfer techniques though hand burnishing and a tabletop press. All materials will be provided, but if participants wish to continue with their new printmaking hobby at home there will be an option to purchase a starter printing kit to take away.

Teas and coffee will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch (or you can purchase lunch from our café), apron/old clothes, sketch pad and any images or ideas you might have.
