July 2023 Newsletter

Published Wednesday 5 July 2023

July is always a spectacular month at Trebah and, despite the recent lack of rain, the garden continues to look fantastic!

The gunnera and bamboo reach their lofty heights, the beach becomes a haven to cool down with a dip and an ice cream and, most excitingly, the hydrangeas begin carpeting the valley with their pastel hues.

New CEO appointed

Jon Cummins

Jon Cummins, formerly Trebah's Operations Manager, has been appointed CEO by the Trebah Garden Trust following the retirement of Director Nigel Burnett last month.

Prior to arriving at Trebah, his career has been spent with the National Trust working across a range of roles from visitor welcome and gardening at Dyrham Park, to regional membership roles in Devon and Cornwall and seven years as visitor services manager at Buckland Abbey on Dartmoor. Directly before joining Trebah he has spent eight years locally as operations manager across three sites; Trelissick, Trerice and Glendurgan.

In a voluntary capacity he's a Director of the Cornwall Association of Tourist Attractions, a network which connects Trebah with 37 of Cornwall’s other top tourist attractions, including Heligan, Eden and St Michael’s Mount amongst many others.

Jon has penned a brief introduction to members, which you can read by clicking the button below.
