With the magnolias beginning to bloom in the garden and the camelias showing great colour, spring looks like it’s on the way in the garden.
And with birdsong becoming louder and the sunshine that little bit warmer it sounds and feels that way too.
Trebah Kitchen is now fully up and running with our new menu, which is on our website HERE. Thanks again for your patience when we closed for a short time last month to allow necessary works to take place.
Work continues later this month as we will be undertaking works to upgrade both our play areas, Tarzan’s Camp and Fort Stuart. To allow this to happen we will need to close both play areas for around a week after half term, from the 19th February.
As part of this work we will also be saying goodbye to the paraglide as it has reached the end of its natural life. We will be replacing it with new play equipment that can be enjoyed by a number of children at any time.
As a small independent charity Trebah Garden, like many thousands of businesses, has been experiencing the pressures of inflation and increasing energy costs this year. As a result we have had to take the decision to increase the price of both membership subscription and admission for 2024/5. As an example, a standard adult admission ticket will increase from £15 to £16. Details of all the prices for the year ahead can be found by clicking HERE. All this said I’m sure you’ll agree that Trebah Membership remains fantastic value. Going forward we will review both membership and admission prices annually.
This month we welcome Falmouth Marine Conservation Group to Trebah, in collaboration with the Marine Stranding Network. Based in the gallery they will be onsite from 10th-19th February with a display including an intriguing array of bones in the form of porpoise skulls and vertebrae from a fin whale. They will also be running some free talks and craft workshops. This of course coincides with half-term and the first of our family trails for 2024: The Sealife Safari trail is available from Saturday 10th.
There are just a few spaces left for our Garden Tour with Charles Fox on 15th February and Charles Dowding on 23rd and 24th February, so book no to avoid disappointment.
Finally, thanks to everyone who has brought a friend for free over the last two months, it’s clearly been a popular promotion and something we intend to repeat next winter.
