Through The Jungle, To The Sea Exhibition by Flora Forshall

Flora Forshall is an artist printmaker living in Falmouth. In 2019 she graduated from Falmouth University with a degree in textile design. Since then she has been creating limited edition screen prints, inspired by the the colours and shapes found in the natural environment.
She is excited by the bold colours and exaggerated shapes of plants and likes to experiment with painting in water-colour, acrylic, gouache, collage and pen drawings, which help with the layout and composition of the design before the printing process begins.
The effect on the viewer is immediate, and her work is that rare thing; communicable, joyful, yet complex with hidden depth. As appealing to a child as an adult, her trademark bold, colourful, playful imagery is studded with extra layers that reward repeat viewings.
