Trebah Garden of Light

This event is sold out

This Christmas season join a magical lantern procession on an intimate journey through Trebah to firelit festivities on the beach. Experience the garden at night; navigate the sub-tropical pathways by the warm glow of your own handcrafted lantern and watch mesmerising flames and reflections on the shoreline.

Explore the garden on your return journey through tunnels of twinkling lights to find local artist-created lantern installations, including lantern specialists Tony Crosby (Truro City of Lights) and Laura Francis Martin (Illuminate Festival). Look out for lanterns from our community and education programme designed and created by schools across Cornwall!

Make your very own lanterns or lantern to guide your family to the beach (pre-booking essential). Our artists will be on hand to support you through the process of designing and building your lantern and to help you achieve your creative potential!

‘Trebah Garden of Light’ is a pilot event exploring the possibility of a winter festival of light for Cornwall. ‘Cornish Gardens of Light’, would be created in partnership with some of Cornwall’s most breath-taking locations, from the Isles of Scilly to the Tamar Valley. Our ambition is to build a festival giving hope in the dark winter months; celebrating the uniqueness of Cornwall’s landscape and developing an opportunity to bring One and All together, sharing contemporary Cornish culture.

This is a family event suitable for all ages, but please note that it is not suitable for buggies or dogs. If you have any access needs, please contact us on 01326 252200

Tickets are £8.50 for adults and £6.50 for children (Trebah Members receive a 10% discount). Make your own lantern for an additional £4 (all materials included).

To book, please CLICK HERE or by call our box office at the Minack Theatre on 01736 810181.
