Hello everyone,

Following the recent and much needed rain the garden is looking and feeling refreshed after a long dry spell. The lawns are starting to show signs of greening up, the hydrangeas have perked up and the hedychium, or ginger lillies in the water garden are still flowering, as is just about everything in the court garden, which continues to be a riot of colour. It doesn’t feel autumnal here quite yet, but we’re probably not far away from it. This month is your last opportunity to see the Story of Trebah Exhibition in the Visitor Centre, as it closes on 28th September, but it will return again in 2026.

Our first autumn exhibition opens on 4th October with the Helford Artist Collective. Finally, if you like food, as I do, some of the best news of the month is that our Sunday roasts return to the menu on the last weekend of September, along with Fish and Chip Fridays. Happy Days.

We’ve been fortunate to have a very good summer here at Trebah, both in the garden and within our café, boathouse, shop and plant sales.  This has included several of the busiest days we’ve experienced since 2019, so I wanted to say a big thank you to our team of staff and volunteers who continue to work hard to care for the garden and welcome all our visitors.

As I mentioned back in July, the Annual General Meeting for Trebah Garden Trust will take place here in the Visitor Centre on Saturday 11 October at 2pm. An agenda will be sent separately with details of our speaker for the afternoon and how to book your seat if you’d like to join us.

Later this month we will also be writing to you all asking for your feedback in our first Membership Survey. This will take the form of a simple online questionnaire asking for your thoughts on your Membership and also on the quality of the visitor experience at Trebah. If you’re able to take the time to fill it in, we’d be very grateful for your views.

Thanks to you all, as ever, for your support as Trebah members. We look forward to welcoming you to the garden again soon.

Best wishes, Jon
CEO, Trebah Garden
