Hello everyone,

July has arrived and within days so has some badly needed rain, which has given some gentle relief to the hydrangea valley as the blooms emerge. The sea of colour they create really is the essence of summer here in at Trebah and they are coming into their prime now. Other highlights in the garden include the cornus or flowering dogwood trees which are in flower at the moment, the philadelphus or mock orange with their own powerful scent and the court garden, which continues to give great colour and provide a warm sheltered spot to enjoy on a sunny day.

Soon the school holidays will be here too. Knowing many of you like to plan your family summer activities ahead of time I thought I’d mention some of our upcoming highlights.

Along with the 2025 summer trail we have several dates of daytime family theatre. The ever-popular Squashbox return with three dates, Zoolab join us for two days of workshops, plus we’ve got further family theatre with Robin Hood, Big Bad Wolf and Jemima Puddleduck. Check our website for more details and to book.

Finally I just wanted to mention the 2025 Trebah AGM date. The meeting will be held on the afternoon of Saturday 11 October, here in the visitor centre. Further details will be sent in late August or early September.

Thanks for your ongoing support as Trebah members. We look forward to welcoming you to the garden again soon.

Best wishes, Jon
