Mallard Pond

Mallard Pond boasts arguably Trebah's most iconic view, looking up the garden towards the house.

Two acres of hydrangeas border its banks, creating a wall of colour in late summer months.

Planted out in 1949 and pruned annually by hand, the flowerheads are huge and are mostly a vibrant light blue. We believe this Hydrangea cultivar to be Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Generale Vicomtesse de Vibraye’.
