Create A Felted Handbag

Make your own wet-felted bag

Join us in discovering the ancient craft of wet felting.Felting has been used for thousands of years in Asia for making yurts, clothes and artwork. Now it is being developed further in Western Europe  to make Felt Couture, limited only by your imagination!

This workshop is suitable for all levels of felting experience and all ages.

Instruction will be offered in felting and fulling, using resists to create 3D and embellishing techniques for your own creation. You will go away with skills that you can use in developing your own style and ideas.

Please bring, if possible:

Large towels, plastic bowls, apron, scissors.

The workshop will provide first quality hand dyed and commercial dyed Merino wool and other UK sourced rare breed fleece and silk fibre, ribbon etc. to embellish. Daena will work alongside you so you can see the whole process.

Daena Rose has worked for over 50 years professionally in textile art. Her primary focus has always been in natural fibres and dyes, producing woven and felted original work which have been exhibited and sold in many countries.

Living in and inspired by Cornwall’s wild seas and coastal woodlands she creates wearable art which is now her new passion.
