Ghost Gear and Beach Fun

A fun beach day combining a guided clean-up, environmental learning and games – then craft your own ghost gear keyring

Start with a relaxed welcome chat where you’ll meet the Castaway team and learn why tackling ghost gear and marine litter matters.

Then it’s time to get hands-on with a guided beach clean while we chat about the environmental impact of the waste we find, including microplastics.

Enjoy some classic beach fun with games like space hoppers and tug of war. Then get creative with beach art using stones and natural materials, and finish off with a “have a go” session where you can turn collected rubbish into unique keyrings or bag tags.

It’s a great day out for ages 5+ come along, make a difference, and have fun doing it!

All under 16 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.

Please read this important information about events at Trebah:

Location: Please enter via the Visitor Centre. You will be directed where to go from there. The event is being held on the beach. There are no toilet facilities on the beach – please ensure little ones go before the start of the event.

Refreshment availability: Trebah Kitchen and the Boathouse will be open.

Garden entry: Not included for non-members. Please buy entry on arrival, this will mean you can explore the garden at your leisure after the event.

When to arrive: Please arrive with enough time for the event to start at the advertised time. The beach is a 20 minute walk from the entrance.

Dogs: Assistance dogs only please.

For a member ticket you must have a valid Trebah Membership. Reciprocal partnerships not valid.
