Plant Sales

In the Trebah Plant Sales Area, we endeavour to offer top quality plants at a reasonable price, either grown on our own nursery here at Trebah, or using the very best of our local Cornish growers to supply us with the best plants possible. Almost all of our plants are now sourced within a 25 mile radius of Trebah.

We have recently been busier than ever before at the Trebah nursery, growing more plants on-site. We choose the best varieties that mirror what you have seen in the garden, and so we can offer everybody a little piece of Trebah to take home after your visit.

Don't forget the 10% discount for Trebah Members can be deducted from all plant purchases as well as indoor products.

As well as unusual and sub-tropical plants, we also stock many other hardy garden plants which we consider to be the best performers of their type, great value for money and suited to conditions in most areas of the UK - these include alpines, shrubs, herbs and herbaceous plants, and some patio and basket plants for long lasting colour in your pots and containers throughout the summer and autumn.

Plants for April/May

Camellias are still holding colour in the garden, and we have many varieties of beautifully branched Cornish Camellias for sale from £2.99 to £11.99 depending on size and variety. Some of these are propagated from our mother plants on Camellia Walk, and some are from other local gardens and nurseries.

Particular favourites are -

Camellia 'McDonalds Seedling' is a stunning Camellia with very rich deep red flowers in single form, which also display deeper red veins on the petals. Plants grown from Trebah material are available now at £2.99 each.

Camellia 'Debbie's Carnation' is a popular variety, flowering very well even on young plants and growing quickly into a good shaped bush. Large, bright pink paeony-form flowers cover this plant from February to April. Plants grown from Trebah material are available now at £2.99 each.

Camellia 'Jury's Yellow' is one of three 'Yellow' varieties which shows off elegant creamy coloured flowers in anemone form with a rich yellow centre. Plants grown from Trebah material are available now at £2.99 each.

Seasonal Favourites

Euryops pectinatus is a ray of sunshine in the garden at this time of year. Lovely, divided, silvery foliage sets off masses of large golden-yellow daisy flowers throughout the winter, spring and summer - forming a lovely bushy shrub, which never fails to please. Requiring a sunny position in a well-drained soil, this super shrub requires little attention, but may need some protection from hardy frosts in more northern areas of the UK. Our home-grown budded and flowering plants are currently on sale from £3.99 to £8.99 depending on size.

Exochorda x macrantha 'The Bride' is a truly elegant shrub with very graceful arching branches which become covered with beautiful pure white flowers during the spring. Hardy, and suitable for most areas, this is a real show-stopper and can be seen flowering here on Camellia Walk each spring. Plants in bud or flower are available at £7.99 each.

Grevillea are wonderful shrubs originating in Australia, but thriving beautifully in our Cornish climate. Frost-hardy and evergreen, they are a good year-round plant giving a little winter colour from their flowers during January and February, but really excelling from March onwards when the buds open up into unusual spider-shaped flowers in a range of colours including, red, pink, cream and continue to bloom for several months. We stock G. Olympic Flame and G.rosmarinifolia, which can be seen growing here at the garden entrance and on the banks of the Visitor Centre. Prices are from £3.99 to £6.99 depending on size and variety.

Lithospermum 'Heavenly Blue' with their intense blue star-shaped flowers, which cover the whole plant centre create a wonderful carpeted mound in the spring. Perfect for rockeries, walls, borders or patio pots-containers, these little gems are the best blue in the garden, other than a temperamental Gentian, and alot easier to keep! Home-grown plants are available now starting at £2.25 for small pots and £4.50 for larger local plants with lots of bud and flower colour. Fabulous!

Scilla peruviana is a wonderful frost-hardy bulb, tolerating temperatures down to minus 7 celcius in a dry soil. Large rounded heads containing between 50-100 small star-shaped flowers of purple-blue are produced every year on stout stems up to 12 inches tall. Fabulous for a sunny border, rockery or patio pots and containers, these beauties are now well-budded on the border planting outside the Visitor Centre here at Trebah after 2 incredibly hard winters. Flowering plants grown here at Trebah nursery are available now at £6.99 each.
