"Excitement around every corner
- a true gardeners delight" C.Sanders, Hampshire
On Wednesday 30th October Trebah Garden held its first ever spooky night walk. A rare opportunity to visit the garden after dark, and if the darkness wasnt tricky enough for the faint hearted to navigate there was also the treat of some wonderful illuminations and spooky installations. Witches, warlocks and goals guided guests through eerie tunnels of vegetation past lantern lit trees and over a trolls bridge to a sound track of howling wolves, giant insects and even an alien invasion. All sorts of spirits and beasties could be spotted through the bushes and in the treetops. The centre piece to the evening was an enormous bonfire on mallard island which provided breathtaking reflections in the water below.
Commenting on the evening's success Nigel Burnett, Trebah's Director said " We were delighted that over 300 people turned out for the walk. It was definitely fun hosting it and the Trebah staff really got into gear - they were even more scary than usual!! " Feedback from the families who came along has been really good and we will definitely be doing this again next year".
