The genus Yushania comes from the Himalayas at lower elevations.
All members of this genus are moderately invasive and normally need some control.
Admired for its delicate looking habit and upright, well-spaced, glossy green canes that will form a steadily expanding clump or grove. Introduced to Britain c.1865 from north west Himalayas.
Similar to Yushania anceps but distinguished by its grey-green culms and very rough culm surface. Forms an imposing specimen for larger sheltered gardens in mild areas such as Cornwall. From north east Himalayas.
