Semiarundinaria
The genus Semiarundinaria comes from East Asia and has about 20 species.
It is fairly clump forming and has relatively large leaves.

A stately species and one of the best garden bamboos. One of the tallest in the UK with substantial upright, straight stems clustered with short branches. From central & southern Japan. Can produce rhizomes to a depth of 1m.
