Distant Dances 1

Cornwall-based dancer and choreographer, Kyra Norman, invites you to join her for a participatory outdoor movement session. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful location of Trebah Garden, this is a time to find our way gently back into our bodies and experience a sense of togetherness, after a year of so much online action and/or isolation. Open to anyone interested in moving, 18+.

What to expect: a warm welcome, a mixed bag of people with bodies that like to move, serious play, full-bodied movement, time to simply be and take it all in, a mix of great music and moments to notice the 'sound world' that is already here, active curiosity and a deep appreciation for this very special place.

The garden is closed to the public for the day, so participants will have the entire site to themselves between 10.30am and 4.30pm. Each workshop will last two hours and be based at and around the Trebah Amphitheatre: sign up for the morning or afternoon session, and then you are welcome to make a day of it - bring a picnic, a good book, swim stuff for a dip if you like...

What to wear

The workshop will happen outdoors, so dress for the weather really, comfy clothes such as jogging bottoms and a t-shirt/ top would be good. Bring layers, a waterproof jacket and sun lotion in case of almost inevitably variable Cornish weather on the day : ) Footwear: trainers, plimsolls or pumps would be good, not flip flops or boots - we'll be moving over uneven surfaces at times. If you have a yoga mat or picnic-type blanket, that might be handy for when we're sitting - optional.

To book your place please call us on 01326 252200.

Please note Trebah Kitchen and the shops will be closed. Limited numbers for each session to ensure Covid safe practice - full Covid health and safety information is available HERE, but if you have any questions prior to booking please contact us on 01326 252200.
