Simon Toomer is Curator of Living Collections at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. His presentation will describe Kew’s history from Royal Palace gardens through Victorian splendor to its modern mission to understand and conserve plant and fungal diversity in a rapidly changing world.
Simon Toomer has spent his working life as a forester, arboriculturist and botanist. Before joining Kew Gardens, he was Director of The National Arboretum, Westonbirt and Senior Consultant for Plant Conservation with the National Trust.
Your ticket includes entry to the garden 1 hour prior to the event (from 4pm).
The bar will be open from 4:30pm serving alcoholic drinks, soft drinks and crisps.
This event will be held in our Exhibition space in the Visitor Centre.
