Join Safaa Al Qaysi and Ketty Savary for an informal demonstration of traditional Syrian baklava making.
Safaa will show you how she makes these delicious treats using the recipe she learnt from her mother growing up in rural Syria. The techniques will be carefully explained and demonstrated, and you will receive a printed version of the recipe to take home.
Ketty is from Lebanon and will be joining Safaa in sharing their passion for the food of their homelands.
After the demo, relax with Safaa and Ketty while tasting the baklava with a cup of tea (included in the ticket price).
All proceeds from this event will be donated to Falmouth and Penryn Welcome Refugees who have to date resettled two families from Syria and offer outreach and education opportunities to all refugees living in Cornwall.
