Zoe Lyons: Bald Ambition

★★★★ Guardian

A hugely enjoyable mix of brutal put downs and richly funny stories, Lyons has what it takes to delight any crowd. Guardian

She is very sharp...an excellent hour, well spent. Times

Zoe Lyons really cuts the mustard.  Scotsman

Confident and razor sharp.  Observer

Zoe Lyons has kept herself busy in the last couple of years by having what can best be described as a monumental midlife crisis. It involved buying a sports car, having a brief marital separation and running a 100k ultra marathon which really didn’t end well. Along the way her hair decided the best thing to do was abandon ship. It ain’t easy being a middle aged woman: try doing it with a combover.

Thankfully Zoe has been able to explore the funny side of all these twists and turns. It's time to sell the silly car and try and put the wheels back on her life.

Zoe is the host of BBC2’s Lightning. She's known as a star of Live at the Apollo and a regular on Have I Got News for You (BBC1), QI (BBC2), and Mock the Week (BBC2). Other credits include Celebrity Antiques Road Trip (BBC2), Stand Up and Deliver (C4), House of Games (BBC2).

Zoe is an immediately recognisable voice on Radio 4 as a regular on The News Quiz, Just a Minute, The Unbelievable Truth and The Now Show, and also co-hosts Frank Skinner’s show on Absolute Radio.

Further information:

  • This event takes place in our open-air amphitheatre and we are used to the Cornish weather! Outdoor events will only be cancelled in extreme weather condition, so please bring a coat.

  • Please allow 20 minutes before the performance starts to walk to the amphitheatre, as it is situated in the heart of Trebah Garden.

  • With tiered seating and plenty of leg room everyone gets ‘the best seat in the house’, so there’s no need to bring your own chairs (but a cushion is a good idea). Please be aware however that seating is unreserved.

  • A number of cushioned seats with back supports are available at the amphitheatre on a first-come-first-served basis.

  • For large parties and groups, please arrive in plenty of time for us to find you seats together.

  • Due to the topography of the garden there is limited access to the amphitheatre, which may not be suitable for all types of mobility vehicles. We will do everything we can to make sure you can see the show but please call us on 01326 252205 before booking to discuss.

  • Our only toilets are within the Visitor Centre at the top of the garden.

  • Although many of our paths are lit it is advisable to bring a torch with you.

  • Picnics are welcome at this event and light refreshments will also be available.

  • We have plenty of free parking available for all events.

  • Trebah loves dogs but unfortunately they are unable to attend live performance events.
