The History of Tea with Jeremy Wilson

The event has been cancelled

On arrival, enjoy a cup of tea while taking in the view from Trebah house before learning about Camellias and their history.

Tea has been drunk for over 2000 years in China and Japan. It only found its way to Britain 300 years ago but we fell in love with it straight away and have been fascinated by it ever since. This might be a simple drink but it has a dark side and links to some major historical events. Learn about the plant and its history.

Following a varied horticultural career, Jeremy now runs his own nursery – Strete Gate Camellias in Devon – which never fails to impress with its collection of more than 500 varieties including 100 types of scented plants. Jeremy acts as steward and judge for RHS camellia competitions, and has won medals himself at RHS shows and at the Malvern Spring Flower Show. Ticket price includes a tea or coffee.
