Creative Possibilities

One of Trebah’s core charitable aims is to “promote the education of the public on matters connected with the arts and sciences of garden land.”

We believe that culture and creativity can change the world and we want to support artists, makers and creators to do just that.

Find out what creative opportunities we are currently offering below.

Dinosaurs and all that rubbish by Roustabout Theatre

Studio Theatre

During November Trebah is creating a pop-up studio performance space. The “Say Yes!” event programme will encourage artists and audiences to take a risk in a newly-purposed, flexible indoor space for 80 (seated) to 100 (standing) people.

This is what we are interested in.

Any piece of work that can be performed to a live audience will be considered and our ambition is to “say yes” to as much as possible. In-keeping with Trebah’s charitable aims we will give priority to work that focuses on the climate emergency and/or the wellbeing benefits from a meaningful connection to green and blue spaces. We’ll also prioritise work that we could not (for whatever reason) programme in our 300 seat open-air amphitheatre or that would enable an under represented community to share their story and/or work. We’re happy to support new work and work that has not yet been performed to an audience but we do expect the work to be developed to a professional standard and ready for an audience to experience; we are not looking to programme in-development work or scratch performances.

SWIM by Liz Richardson

If you’re thinking about applying this is what you need to know.

We are expecting to book no more than one performance of each event (a daytime or evening slot). Tickets for all performances that are part of the “Say Yes!” event programme will be offered to bookers at a flexible, pay-what-you-can-afford, price of £10, £12 or £15. Performance companies or individuals will receive 70% of the gross box office income (no minimum guarantees and no cancellation for low numbers). We have 80 chairs that can be arranged however you want in the space. We can supply a very basic stand-based lighting rig (one state only) which we can operate. We can also supply a basic PA sound system which we can also operate. We can support all events by including them in our on-site marketing, our events newsletters, our members newsletters, in dedicated socials posts and in paid for socials advertising.
