In early May 2024, Trebah welcomed television gardening star Monty Don to film for the day in the beautiful late-spring sunshine - the most south-westerly garden to feature in the series!
In the south west episode, Monty was blown away by our rhododendrons, the fast-growing bamboo and the fascinating stories of how Trebah developed from wooded valley to sub-tropical paradise over time, all thanks to our special micro-climate.
All 5 episodes are available to watch on BBC iPlayer here and will air on BBC Two on Friday 7 February at 8pm.

In the five episode show, Monty Don travels around the country finding out what Britain's gardens tell us about our culture, climate and history.
In Trebah's episode, which also featured Rousham, Bowood House, The Newt, Plaz Metaxu, Wildside, Heligan and St Just In Roseland, Monty travels across the south west of the country to visit some of Britain’s most exotic gardens, thanks to the warm and wet climate. On this journey, he also goes to some of the country's most historic gardens, as well as some challenging contemporary ones.
